Corporate Law
Corporate law is the area of law that deals with the creation and regulation of corporations and other business organizations. Corporate laws govern the relationships among various constituents of a corporation such as shareholders, directors and management. A corporation is a legal entity that can own property, make contracts, sue and be sued. Corporations are usually incorporated or chartered in the United States. Corporate law also involves securities law that governs the conditions under which corporations can issue shares and are designed to prevent fraudulent share and stock offerings.
